As used at APEC 2007 in Sydney

As used at APEC 2007 in Sydney Our Conference Microphones, sometimes called Push to Talk Microphones are quite different to Standard Table microphones and hand held or lapel microphones. They are desk mounted and each one includes a button on the front and a loudspeaker. The advantage of these Conference Microphones is that they solve a major problem with conventional microphones, whereby more than 4 microphones introduce noise into the system. This is eliminated with our conference microphones and the number of microphones available is unlimited.

These Microphones also eliminate the problem of operator intervention, since users can turn their own microphone on.

Our Conference Microphones have the added feature of a chairman override function. If a meeting gets out of hand then the chairman can press their override button, this temporarily mutes all other microphones, the chairman can then bring the meeting to order.

These Conference microphones are used where there is an interactive discussion. This might be a boardroom application or a much larger conference with 200+ people all wanting to make a contribution. They have been used for Trade Negotiations, Union Meetings, International Treaty Negotiations, Training Meetings, the applications are endless, and in fact anywhere where everyone has the possibility to be heard.

Software Control and Queuing

All our microphone systems will integrate with our PC based Software queuing system and our Video Dome system. The Video Dome system provides the automatic video tracking of the person speaking. This is ideal for remote meetings or viewing.

Central Control Unit

Central Control Unit

Each system has a Central Control Unit. This allows the administrator to set the meeting characteristics

.• The maximum number of “Open Microphones” can be selected to 1, 2, 3, or 4

• ‘Open’ function can be selected whereby when the maximum number of microphones is reached the “next” delegate is queued to speak.

• ‘Override’ function can be selected whereby when the maximum number of microphones is reached the “next” delegate replaces the person who has been speaking the longest.

• ‘Voice Activated’ function can be selected whereby the electronics automatically detects the 4 microphones with people speaking and automatically switches on.
These Microphones are often known as Table Microphones or Push-to-talk microphones. This really just means that the delegate selects when they wish to speak.

Our Conference Microphones are an ideal replacement for table microphones that don’t have a push to talk button. Standard Table microphones require the operator to turn on the delegate / panelist. Our conference microphones are turned on by the presenter; this also eliminates the possibility of any embarrassing asides being heard by the audience.

These microphones are also ideal for integrating with your Video Conferencing system and also Teleconferencing, especially where there are difficult acoustics in the room.
